Over the five year period from 2002 through 2006, East Hartford has consistently exceeded the statewide average for proportion of resident births to teen mothers. In fact, the linear trend in this community appears to indicate an increase in the proportion of teen mothers from a low of 10% to a high of 11.7%. East Hartford is clearly a Connecticut community that would benefit from efforts to reduce teen pregnancy and adolescent childbearing.
